BA Top-Up Business Management
The BA (Hons) Business Management programme (Top-Up) provides students with the opportunity to study across a range of business disciplines, establishing a firm grounding to pursue a wide variety of careers in business. The programme places a major emphasis on employability skills and career aspirations. It achieves this through a blend of academic study, intercultural awareness and employability and enterprise skills development. BA (Hons) Business Management (Top-Up) skills are critical to the success of all organisations. Future leaders require both the knowledge and soft skills to deal with complex, uncertain, and dynamic situations. Students engage with a range of contemporary management issues and themes, and apply learning to real business scenarios, live case studies and collaborative activities. Students explore what it takes to lead innovation and change, collaborate across industries and sectors, deliver sustainable strategies and flourish in a global and diverse environment.
The Bachelor of Art (Honors) in Business Management is a one-year “Top Up” programme offered on full-time delivery mode that is designed to “top up” the students’ existing vocational qualification (e.g. UAE Higher Diploma, UK Higher National Diploma, Scottish Qualifications) It has been designed in line with international standards and aims to provide a high quality business education. The curriculum is carefully designed to integrate core business and specialized courses as detailed in the illustrative study plan.
Aims:
- Enable students to explore organisations, their management and the changing global economy in which they operate.
- Prepare and develop students for a career in business and management, especially in an international context.
- Develop and enhance students’ transferable, intellectual and study skills.
- Foster an awareness of, and sensitivity to, their own and others’ cultural backgrounds and influences, which may include a knowledge of a language other than their own.
- Produce readily employable graduates possessing lifelong learning skills to make an immediate contribution to employing organisations and society at large.
